The Weekend Fair in suburban Norfield is held in a large open-air plaza. The emphasis is on seasonal produce grown by local farmers. There are also pop-up cafes with Greek and Mexican food, temporary bakeries with fresh bread and pastry shops making rolls right at the fair. At each event, the local Alexander’s Ragtime Brass Band is invited to play, entertaining children while parents shop. Local activists put on theatrical and musical performances, offer arts and crafts workshops, and advise shoppers on how to store, handle, and prepare food.
