Greenmarket

Greenmarket

Greenmarket gives small family farms the opportunity to sell produce directly to consumers, namely New Yorkers. Now the Greenmarket is regularly held in the five boroughs of the city. At each fair there is a center for accepting used batteries and trash. The poor are given free food vouchers which can be used directly at the fair. Separate tents with information booths and educational games are set up for children. One of GrowNYC’s latest initiatives was Midsummer’s Night, the first night fair where you could buy locally produced wine and cheeses, listen to live music and taste food prepared by employees of nearby restaurants.
