Minnesota State Fair sets health rules and encourages attendees to “do their part”

The fair is asking visitors to make an informed decision before deciding to travel. Citing the Minnesota Department of Health, people who have not yet been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, those who are immunocompromised and caregivers should reduce risks by using multiple layers of protection, such as avoiding large gatherings and wearing a mask indoors and out, when social distancing is not possible.

Event organizers are also urging the public to get vaccinated. According to MDH, it is widely believed that unvaccinated people account for the vast majority of all current cases of COVID-19. The fair does not require attendees to show proof of vaccination, but is strongly encouraged to get vaccinated. During the 12-day event, there will be an opportunity to get vaccinated at the state fairgrounds located in the North Action Center.

In addition, the fair also encourages unvaccinated and vaccinated people to wear masks indoors and outdoors in public places. Some independent vendor booths require everyone attending to wear masks as well. Getting to the fairgrounds on any public transportation would also require masks, such as Federal regulations require.

“It would be very difficult to force large-scale use of masks for our organization, so we encourage you to participate and do what’s right. fair,” the gallery noted in part.

The masks will also be available at the information booth and at several building entrances if needed.

“We recognize that no event is completely risk-free, and we count on you to do your part to help us make the event as safe as possible by following these health guidelines,” the show said.
